Created in an oval shape, almost cast in one, the bed is pure aesthetic enjoyment. No sharp edges, contraptions or gimmicks here. Safe, beautiful, simple and functional.

In the Leander cot function the base of the bed is raised to enable you easy access to your baby without the discomfort of bending unnecessarily into a cot to pick her up. This can be especially important when you are recovering from childbirth.

As your baby grows and can maneuver himself more easily, usually at around 6 to 9 months, you would drop the base level of the mattress to the bottom to prevent him pulling himself out over the edge of the cot.

Later on, approximately from 18 months or 2 years you might want to start to take the side rails off the Leander Cot Bed to let your baby climb in and out of the bed himself and get used to the transition into a normal bed. This is a great option as they are used to the Leander environment and minimizes any stresses that can be incurred in this transition.

The Leander Cot Bed is available in 3 colours, white, the new Walnut and a whitewash (this looks like a very soft natural birch colour,)

This Leander CotBed is fantastic. Granted it is at the more expensive end of the scale, but it has 5 setup stages right up to a child's single bed. This means that you can have a good quality cot and bed rather than buying 2 or three lesser quality products that would probably cost more in the long run.

It is superbly made and looks modern and stylish. It was easy to put together and we tried our little boy (at 8 weeks) in it the first night and he has slept in it (in his own room) every night since... He loves it!

I would highly recommend this product and we also got the fitted sheets for the matress, which you can get through Boohoobaby if you ring up.

10/10 if you can afford it, get it. It's much nicer looking than the Stokke!

  A. Thank you for your question. I have spoken at length with the manufacturer and can confirm that when your baby is small that the base of the cot will rise to 52cm from the floor so the need for the side to open is minimum. Once your child starts to gain mobility you may wish to drop the base again to 25cm. However, there is no quick release mechanism for the side to drop down or hinge open.

  A. Thanks for your question. I have been informed by Leander that the mattress is made in a ventilated cold foam, and is covered in a ecotex-treated quilted thermal wool which I understand will help reduce the sweating of the baby

  A. Thanks for your enquiry. In answer to your question the Cot bed and Junior bed come as an all in one product so you can simply make up what ever variety you would like. If you are simply after the junior bed you can just make up the Leander with the longer side extensions.

  A. Thanks for your enquiry. The delivery for the Leander cotbed is around 7-10 days, it is dispatched via a local courier service who will contact you directly to arrange a convenient time. The mattress for the cotbed comes in three parts, for the cot you only require 2 sections then you slip the third section in the middle when you extend it into the bed. The mattress overlay simply evens out the mattress sections so you don't feel any joins in the mattress. It isn't waterproof or a necessity although most people you buy the cotbed get the overlay too.

  A. Thanks for your enquiry. The Leander cot bed comes complete with the mattress. As the mattress is supplied in 3 parts, 2 parts are used in the cot format and then the 3rd section slotted in between the first sections to extend mattress into the Junior bed format. The mattress overlay is an optional accessory as this helps reduce any feeling of the joins in the mattress.

  Q. I love the leander bed and I am thinking to buy it for my baby but I am concerned about it as I am struggling to find something to much it like a wardrobe or chest and chest of drawer . Have you got any suggestion?t
 
  A. Thanks for your enquiry. This is a common problem and dealt with in many ways by our customers. As this is a European design they don't have the same focus on matching furniture. However, as the finishing is very neutral you can use it with white or beach furniture and it works well in different settings. Have a look at some antique dressers and furniture or even a trip to IKEA might provide some inspiration. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your enquiry. Sorry there isn't, as we understand it, any cot bumper suitable for the leander. Following the latest cot death recommendations they actually don't encourage using one.

  Q. Hi, Looking at the bed configurations there seem to be two but only the one "junior" bed length is mentioned. Could you please let me know of the lengths of the bed in each case or do I assume that the smaller of the two beds is the same lenght as the cot. Thanks

  Q. Would a cot top changer fit this bed as it has a slight curve? Also, does it come with teething rails? Is it treated to stop baby chewing on it or can you recommend something?

Thanks for your enquiry. A cot top changer would fit across the rails of the cot and this is where it should be used. Customers can purchase separately a teething rail to attach to the Leander Cot as it doesn’t come with same. But as there are several on the market so it would be best shopping around for a suitable one as Leander don’t promote any particular types or brands.

  Q. I received a bed bumper as a present at my daughter's birth so i was wondering if any bed bumper would fit the Leander cot bed? Also, is it possible to put a teething rail onto the bed?
 
  A. Hi Aurelie,

Thanks for your enquiry. Bumpers come in all sizes including half size, for cots and cot/beds. The unique features of a Leander bumper is that it's 4 sections so Mom or Dad can use two sections or all of it at same time on the Leander. The rails are not designed for teething rails as we understand from various types we have seen that they are too long, as you know the Leander begins to curve after the rail. It should be noted that Leander has not safety tested teething rails on their product.
